At Silver Oaks International Schools, we believe that education is a journey of character and competence, preparing every child for success in academics and for life. Our philosophy of growing mindful citizens who think globally and act responsibly finds its most powerful expression in our flagship Civic and Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Coins for the Country.

This unique campaign enables our students to actively participate in nation-building by supporting rural education and community development, forging deep connections between learning and service.

Each year, students aged 4 to 17 across every grade embrace a tradition that extends beyond the classroom. They earn and save coins in earthen pots by assisting family members, creating artwork, lending a hand in their community, or even conducting small fundraisers. Every coin is a symbol of shared purpose and empathy.

As the school year culminates, students bring their filled piggy banks to campus for a mega counting event. This lively celebration brings everyone together as all the pooled coins are collectively counted, marking a memorable highlight for the entire Silver Oaks community.

The impact of Coins for the Country is amplified by our two-decade-long partnership with the Rural Development Foundation (RDF), a collaboration built on enduring trust and a shared vision. After the mega counting event, collective donations surpassing ₹2.5 crore as of 2024 are channelled to RDF. These funds are utilised to strengthen learning environments in rural schools across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, supporting better classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and opportunities for underprivileged children to access quality education.

Our collaboration goes beyond financial assistance. For nearly 20 years, Silver Oaks and RDF have worked together on multi-dimensional projects that focus on educational excellence and equity.

A distinctive feature of this relationship is our student exchange programme. Under this initiative, Silver Oaks students visit RDF schools to participate in joint learning activities, cultural exchanges, and immersive experiences. These visits are pivotal in building bridges, broadening horizons for all students, fostering mutual respect, and cultivating social awareness. For Silver Oaks learners, it is a chance to see the direct impact of their efforts and develop genuine empathy and leadership skills by interacting closely with rural peers.

Yet, Coins for the Country is more than a fundraising drive. It is a transformative journey. Every fundraiser, awareness campaign, and classroom discussion becomes a space for our students to witness the power of small contributions and the importance of collective responsibility. Through these experiences, they internalise essential values like empathy, service, and leadership, and recognise that true educational excellence lies in driving real-world transformation.
