Lakshmi Shobha believes, “Education begins the moment we see children as innately wise and capable beings. Only then can we play along in their world”. She joined Silver Oaks Hyderabad as a home room teacher in 2009 and emerged as Head of the junior wing.
Besides the basic qualifications that the profession should have, she has done a project zero course of Harvard on ‘Teaching for Understanding’ and also attended IB workshops on Concept driven curriculum, teaching & learning, Reading and writing, teachers as researchers and Creating Inclusive Classrooms. She has also done courses on Crafting an Effective Writer, Critical Thinking in Global Challenges , Inspiring Leadership through Emotional Intelligence and Teaching Character and Creating Positive Classrooms.
In 2017 her paper on the Best practices of the school got selected and she was invited to give a presentation in Japan during the IB world conference.
As a Veena player and an ardent lover of Carnatic music, she encourages her students to participate in all cultural events of the school . She is a frequent traveler and loves trekking with the school during her summer vacation. As a Head of the wing, her Motto is to see her students come to school for a happy learning and make it a relevant, significant, challenging and an engaging experience to them.
